Pre-birth to three

Staff working with children 0-3 follow  Pre Birth to Three: Positive Outcomes for Scotland’s Children and Families.

Brain development is a main focus within the Pre Birth to Three as it has been discovered through extensive research that 90% of brain development takes place before the age of 3.

Relationship, Respect, Responsive Care & Rights of the Child.

We continually focus on the rights of the child in all we do. Throughout our programme of learning opportunities and forward planning we ensure all children experience a nurturing and stimulating learning environment. Children are encouraged to have high expectations of themselves and others to reach their full potential and make a positive contribution to society.

We recognize valuable learning experience in varying capacities and environments are vital for preparation for life. Parents can be reassured that with our qualified, highly skilled and experienced staff we will create opportunities for your child to learn at their own developmental level.

Curriculum for excellence

It is our aspiration that all our young children become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors within our society.

Children will be given the opportunity to be introduced to and working alongside Curriculum for Excellence. Incorporated within the curriculum framework are experiences and outcomes that are suitable for the group’s age and ability.

We provide a framework for planning that allows children to achieve. We have a clear and effective strategy for development and assessment of literacy, numeracy and health and well being. Children are consulted within their learning and have opportunities to work collaboratively with staff in indentifying their own achievements and planning next steps.
